Free monthly session

Leadership Café. 30 minutes. One leadership problem. One tool you can use today.

A free monthly conversation for people who lead, or are stepping into leadership. Not a webinar, not a mini course. We start with a real problem leaders are living with this month, talk honestly about what is going on underneath it, and share a practical way to handle it before the thirty minutes is up.

First session Tuesday 29 September 2026, 9:30am AEST, 12:30pm NZDT. Then the last Tuesday of every month.

How it flows

It feels like a conversation over coffee, not a workshop.

A real situation

Every session opens with a situation the room has lived through, and an honest look at what is actually going on underneath it.

One practical tool

Megan shares a simple way to handle it, and the group works it through against a real scenario rather than a hypothetical.

Guest voices

Each month a guest joins to talk about what they are seeing in their own patch. A genuine conversation across industries, not a presentation.

Open table

The last stretch is left open. Bring what is live in your team and the group works through it together. Often the most useful ten minutes of the thirty.

Megan hosts every session. Each month a guest is invited in to share an honest perspective on what is happening in their space around the month's topic, which keeps the series feeling like real talk across industries rather than one voice repeating the same points.

What we talk about

Less a curriculum, more a map of what leaders are actually wrestling with.

Conversations

Feedback, conflict, performance, emotion, expectations and boundaries.

Accountability

Delegation, standards, underperformance, ownership and follow through.

Capacity

Workload, priorities, burnout, change fatigue and manager overload.

Change

AI in the workplace, hybrid work, restructure and uncertainty.

First up: three real conversations

Session 01

The Conversation You've Been Avoiding

How do I have the conversation before it becomes a bigger problem?

A simple way to work through it: The Steady Conversation: State, Situation, Behaviour, Reference, Impact, Invite.

Why this conversation keeps getting put off, and a calm way to actually have it. You leave with something you can say in the next 48 hours, not just a nicer way to think about it.

Session 02

They're Not Performing. Now What?

How do I work out what is really going on before I try to fix it?

A simple way to work through it: G.A.P.S: four quick questions to ask yourself before you say anything to them.

Real talk about why we jump to fixing the person before working out what is happening. You leave able to tell the difference between a skills problem, a motivation problem and a broken system.

Session 03

Stop Solving Everyone's Problems

Why does everyone bring everything to me, and how do I change that?

A simple way to work through it: Three questions before you jump in: What have you tried? What do you think we should do? What do you need from me?

How good leaders accidentally train their team to stop thinking. You leave with one small habit that builds ownership instead of dependency.

Beyond the first three there is plenty more on the table: psychological safety without lowering standards, managing emotion in the room, workload and priorities, delegation, and leading through AI and change.
